🏃Struggling with Achilles pain? Achilles tendino 🏃Struggling with Achilles pain?

Achilles tendinopathy is a condition of the Achilles tendon that attaches the calf muscles to the back of the heel. Irritation of this tendon can occur due to
- Sudden increases in training load
- Age and tendon changes
- Biomechanics and movement factors
- Poor recovery
- Reduced calf strength and capacity

A large part of the rehabilitation for this condition is calf muscle strengthening and ankle control exercises.

Here is our Physio Loire demonstrating some lower leg strength and control exercises, from simple calf raise holds to front heel elevated lunges.
😮‍💨 Could Stress Be Contributing to Your Pain? We 😮‍💨 Could Stress Be Contributing to Your Pain?

We all experience stress—whether it's work, family, finances or life's everyday pressures. While some stress is a normal part of life, ongoing or high levels of stress can have a real impact on your body and may contribute to aches and pains.

When you're stressed, your body switches into "fight or flight" mode, which can lead to:
💥 Increased muscle tension
💥 Higher sensitivity to pain
💥 Reduced movement and stiffness
💥 Neck pain, headaches and low back pain

Have you ever noticed your neck or back feels worse after a particularly stressful day? You're not imagining it. Stress can increase muscle activity and inflammation, making your body more sensitive and more likely to experience pain.

The good news? There are plenty of ways to help manage stress and reduce its impact, including:
✨ Regular exercise
🧘 Mindfulness and breathing exercises
😴 Quality sleep
🤲 Manual therapy and massage
🔥 Heat therapy
👥 Spending time with friends and family
💬 Speaking with a psychologist when needed

At 4Lane Physiotherapy, we take a whole-person approach to your care. If stress is playing a role in your pain, our physiotherapists can help you understand the connection and develop a treatment plan that addresses both the physical and contributing lifestyle factors.

📞 Call us on (08) 9756 7424 or book online to get started.

There are many injuries that can causes pain in th There are many injuries that can causes pain in the glute/upper leg region, which is why its so important to have it properly assessed, diagnosed and treated effectively.

High hamstring tendinopathy or a high hamstring strain is one of these injuries. Pain is located high in the upper leg close to where the tendon attatches to the bone, and is aggrevated when sitting down, running, and stretching the hamsring, such as kicking or bending down. It is caused by overloading the tendon or a sudden overstretching or powerfull contraction and there can be sciatic nerve involvement too.

If you're having glute or hamstring issues, contact 4LANE Physiotherapy on 9756 7424 to book an assessment!

Tailbone Pain (Coccydynia): More Common Than You T Tailbone Pain (Coccydynia): More Common Than You Think! 🍑

Pain in and around the tailbone (coccyx) can make everyday activities like sitting, driving, working, or exercising uncomfortable. This condition, known as coccydynia, is a symptom rather than a diagnosis and can develop for a variety of reasons.

Some common contributors to tailbone pain include:
✔️ Falls or direct trauma to the tailbone
✔️ Prolonged sitting on hard or narrow surfaces
✔️ Poor posture and sitting habits
✔️ Repetitive activities such as cycling or rowing
✔️ Pregnancy and childbirth
✔️ Muscle tightness and pelvic floor dysfunction
✔️ Changes in spinal posture and mobility

You may be surprised to learn that tight muscles around the hips and pelvis, particularly the piriformis and iliopsoas, can alter the way forces travel through the pelvis and sacrum, contributing to increased stress on the tailbone.

The good news? Conservative treatment remains the gold standard for managing tailbone pain.

Physiotherapy can help by:
✅ Identifying the underlying causes of your symptoms
✅ Improving posture and movement patterns
✅ Providing hands-on treatment for pain relief
✅ Prescribing targeted exercises and stretches
✅ Addressing muscle tightness and pelvic floor function
✅ Helping you return to sitting, work, exercise, and daily activities with confidence

Simple strategies such as using a coccyx cushion, avoiding prolonged sitting, taking regular movement breaks, and completing the right exercise program can often make a significant difference.

If tailbone pain is affecting your quality of life, our physiotherapy team is here to help with personalised assessment, treatment, education, and rehabilitation.

📞 Call 9756 7424 or book online today to get started.
